CRACK SEALER, NOT JUST FOR SEALING CONCRETE!

Posted on Oct 01 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Ok, well first of all, happy October!

Anyway, on to my post. A couple weeks ago, just before we moved, my Gma and Gpa came down to say goodbye until we saw them again for Thanksgiving. My mom had this extra concrete crack sealer stuff that she was giving to my Gpa so we didn’t have to move with it.

Ordinary crack sealer.

Well, apparently “crack sealer” is referring to more then one kind of crack. Enough said. Know where I’m going with this? Yup, you guessed it, here’s proof of the wackiness of my brother’s and Gpa’s brains.

I’ll just leave you to ponder how on earth they come up with this stuff!

WISHES!

Posted on Sep 27 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

A couple nights ago, my mom and dad took my brother and me to go see the fireworks show Wishes from where our new house is going to be. Normally people watch Wishes from the Magic Kingdom, but the view from Thornhill, where we’re going to live, is really cool too.

Here’s the view of Wishes from Thornhill.

It was really really cool, and from our house, we’ll only have to walk across the street. We were so close you could actually hear the fireworks exploding, although there was a really long delay, which was kinda cool!

YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE HOW BUSY I’VE BEEN!

Posted on Sep 24 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Wow, I haven’t had a post in almost a whole month. But I have a good reason, really, I do. As you may or may not know, my family has been busy moving to Florida. School also started, so I’ve been pretty busy.

My school is really awesome this year. Technically I’m not homeschooled anymore, I go to an online private school called the K12 icademy. Icademy is for international academy. There’s not only kids from all over the United States, but there’s also kids from all over the world including Germany and the Middle East.

I have different teachers for my different subjects, and they’re all over the USA too. I have teachers from Texas and Pennsylvania and stuff. If I have a question I just e-mail or IM them. Every once in a while the teachers also host an online chat session where all the students log into a chat room type thing and can hang out with each other, or ask questions if they need help with something.

And our new house in Florida is really cool too. It’s not permanent, we’re only going to live here for about 6 months until our new house is built. We’re so close to Disney we can actually see the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom from our window. We have annual passes, so if we want to head over to Downtown Disney and eat at Earl of Sandwich for dinner, we can.

Here’s the front of our rental house.

DO NOT PUT CORN UP YOUR NOSE!

Posted on Sep 01 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

When I was 2 and 1/4, my dad had this 8 hour interview at Children’s Hospital to get a job. He got home that night and we sat down to eat dinner. My brother wasn’t born yet, my mom was still pregnant with him, and my parents were glad to have a dinner when I wasn’t talking my head off.

Little did they know, the reason I wasn’t talking was because I was busy seeing what would fit up my nose. A few minutes into dinner, I look at my mom and dad and say:

“I put corn up my nose!”
My mom and dad are like, “What?”
“I took corn, and shoved it up my nose!”

So my dad tried to get it out with his hemostats or whatever they’re called, but it didn’t work. He had to drive back to Children’s Hospital and tell the people he’d just interviewed for that his daughter put a piece of corn up her nose.

Eventually they got it out, but it was a pretty interesting evening. Sorry about not posting very much, but I either can’t think of anything, or I’m busy. My school starts tomorrow (Yuck), so I might not post a lot then either. I’ll still try to keep you entertained though!

HELLO, MY NAME IS KICK!

Posted on Aug 29 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

My mom took my brother and I to Boonshoft Museum of Discovery yesterday, and it was really fun. Plus, I got a new nickname; Kick. There’s this big tent thing that is inflated by an air pump. There is constantly air going into it, keeping it inflated. But if you lift up on of the sides, it collapses on you. My mom, Nick, and I were sitting in there when this lady and her kid came in as well.

We started chatting, and found out the kid was going to be four soon, and that his name was Miles. We told him our names were Karen, Nick, and Katie. And he pointed to each of us and said our names. He said, “You Nick. You Kick.”

I was chewing gum and I blew bubble. Apparently Miles loved seeing people blow bubbles, and he said, “Blow ‘gain, Kick. Blow bubble ‘gain.” Is was so cute! Then I became Kick Brewster. Why he picked Brewster I have no idea. But Lincoln Brewster is one of my favorite bands, so I thought it was kind of ironic.

He was the cutest kid ever, and full of energy. His mom looked really worn out. Anyway, that’s just a cute story I thought I’d share with you. Also, the first Ohio State Buckeye game is tomorrow. GO BUCKS!!

A MEME FOR FOURS!

Posted on Aug 27 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Well, my mom tagged me for this meme, and since I haven’t had a post in a while, I thought I’d just do this. It’s called the four, four, four, four meme. Which doesn’t make much sense considering there are six categories, but whatever.

1. Four places I go over and over: Walt Disney World, my room, my gma and gpa’s house, and the Davis.

2. Four people who email me regularly: Emily, Cara, Abby, and my Gpa.

3. Four of my favorite places to eat: Longhorn, BD’s Mongolian BBQ, Cici’s Pizza, and Mitsukoshi Teppan Edo.

4. Four places I’d rather be right now: The zoo, imPact (My youth group), Ohio State football game, and Timber Wolf Lake.

5. Four TV shows I watch: Mythbusters, Survivor, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Wizards of Waverly Place.

6. Four people I will tag: Moggie, Maribeth, Christy, and Deb.

I MET AN OLYMPIC DIVER!

Posted on Aug 21 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Sorry I haven’t posted in forever, we’re really busy with getting ready to move and stuff. Anyway, if you’re watching the Olympics, you might have heard about the diver, Laura Wilkinson. Well, I actually met her last spring. I have her autograph to prove it.

She was at The Revolve Tour and she was a speaker there. Afterwards you could go and meet her. It was so awesome! She said that she was going to be diving in the 2008 Summer Olympics and that we should all root for her. I’ve been waiting for them so I could watch her dive.

I saw her last night and she was amazing! And the announcers always made a point of saying how friendly she was and how she was always smiling. And I thought it was cool because she’s a Christian, and she’s just having a good time. She’s diving again tonight I think, so you should watch her, because she’s awesome!

SATURDAY PHOTO HUNT: COLORFUL

Posted on Aug 16 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

This week’s Photohunt theme is colorful, and this picture is really colorful. It was taken in St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. There was this bird show where the birds did all sorts of tricks like mini bicycles and stuff. After the show you could get your picture taken with some of the birds.

Here’s Nick and I holding a bunch of birds.

It was kind of scary because those birds can actually bite off your fingers, not to mention they’re surprisingly heavy. But it was really cool anyway.

THE ENDLESS SALAD BAR ENDED

Posted on Aug 14 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Here is yet another example of the constant sarcasm that travels through our house. My dad, brother, and I were driving to Kings Island for the day, when we passed a restaurant with one of those signs where you can change the letters. The sign said, “Endless salad bar!”

As we drove by, we saw there was another sign in the window saying that the building was for sale. So my dad said, “I think the endless salad bar ended.” We all burst out laughing. Yup, that’s the kind of stuff we say all the time. Out first language is sarcasm. It’s true.

WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE?

Posted on Aug 12 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

If you didn’t know, the 2008 summer Olympics are on right now, so every night my family gathers around our TV to root on the Americans. The other night we were watching swimming and they were introducing all the swimmers. They showed this one Chinese girl who was only 14 years old.

I was shocked to see someone so young competing in the Olympics, and I made a point of telling everyone else that she was my age. Nick looked at me and said, “What are you doing with your life?” Well, it’s definitely not swimming in the Olympics, that’s for sure!
